Some bought an M1 and had some issues with installations, but I think most have been resolved now.Īnyway. But my bootcamp also issues MacBook airs to students who didn’t have access to one. I used my old MacBook Pro from 2013 to complete my bootcamp. Is the cloud Mac price worth it with that in mind?Īsk the bootcamp if you can use a lower gen Mac and not M1 (this should be fine)Īsk if you can use Linux instead of Mac OS (if you're comfortable installing and running Linux on your windows computer, this might be a cheaper alternative)Īlso ask other students for options and advice.

Whatever time they tell you you should spend a week, add 10-20 hours on top of that. Also, expect to put a lot of hours in the bootcamp, 20-40 a week for part time program, about 40ish I believe for full time. I don't think you want a cloud Mac simply because bootcamp are very stressful and having your own equipment without having to rely on external network is very useful and safer IMHO. The price still hurts me a year after lol.

I ended up buying a Mac one version below m1. I did a different bootcamp and they advised to use Macs. with a cloud Mac you need to make sure it can perform well and that It can send requests to servers and databases without any interference or security block, idk just thinking out loud. It's best to check with your bootcamp and other students what options you might have.
